Smoky Mountain questions, answered

When is the best time to visit the Smoky Mountains?

October brings the famous fall color — and the biggest crowds. Spring offers wildflowers and mild weather, winter brings cozy cabin season and holiday lights. I live nearby and will tell you honestly what each season is really like.

Cabin or hotel — which should we choose?

Cabins win for groups, families, and anyone who wants a kitchen, a hot tub, and space to spread out. Hotels win for couples who want simplicity and walkability. Tell me your group and I will steer you right.

Is Dollywood worth it?

For most families, absolutely — it is consistently rated one of the best theme parks in the country, and the seasonal festivals (especially Smoky Mountain Christmas) are spectacular. I can help you pick the right ticket and the right day to go.

Can you plan a trip that is only a weekend long?

Of course — some of the best trips are short ones. A well-planned two or three days in the Smokies beats a week of winging it. No trip is too small to plan well.
