Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions I hear most often about planning a trip with Isaiah Newport Travel.

Why book with Isaiah Newport Travel?

You’ll have a real person to help you sort through the options and plan a vacation that fits your interests, budget, and travel style. I bring personal travel experience and attention to detail to the planning process, so you don’t have to figure everything out on your own. I create custom and detailed travel itineraries from start to finish.

What types of vacations can you help me plan?

I can help with cruises, all-inclusive resorts, hotel stays, family vacations, honeymoons, group trips, and weekend getaways. Whether you’re dreaming of the Bahamas, a big-city adventure, or a quick escape closer to home, we can explore your options together.

Do I have to live near you to book a trip?

I’m based in East Tennessee, but we can handle your vacation planning by phone, email, or online. You don’t need to visit an office or meet in person to get started. We can communicate via your preferred method of communication. I am always available for a quick Zoom chat too.

Does using a travel advisor cost extra?

No. My planning is free, and you never pay me anything extra. I'm paid by the cruise lines, resorts, and travel companies I book with, and you pay the same price you would booking direct — and sometimes, because I have a large host agency behind me, I can get you special discounts or perks you can't get booking on your own. If anything on a trip ever falls outside that, I'll tell you up front before you commit to anything.

Can you help me stay within my budget?

Absolutely! Share your comfortable total budget, including any flights, activities, and extras you want to include. I’ll help you compare options and explain the trade-offs so you can decide where to save and where to spend a little more.

Can I pay a deposit and make payments?

Some vacations offer a deposit with the remaining balance due later. Availability depends on the supplier, booking terms, and how soon you’re traveling. Certain reservations require full payment at booking. I’ll explain the payment requirements and deadlines for your specific trip.

Can you help with accessibility needs or special requests?

Yes! Let me know early about mobility needs, wheelchair or scooter use, accessible accommodations, dietary requests, or other considerations. Having traveled with a family member who uses mobility assistance, I understand how much these details matter. I can help research options and communicate requests; availability and confirmation depend on the provider.

Can you help me explore travel insurance?

Yes! I can help you explore travel protection options for your trip. Coverage, exclusions, and eligibility vary by policy, so it’s important to review the details before purchasing. If you have a specific coverage question, we can direct it to the insurance provider.

What if I need to change or cancel my trip?

Contact me as soon as possible so I can help you understand your options. Changes, cancellation fees, refunds, and credits depend on your reservation’s terms and the supplier’s policies. Refunds aren’t guaranteed, and any insurance claim is subject to the policy’s coverage and approval. I will do my best to get a refund back to you, but they are at the supplier’s discretion.

How do I get started?

Complete my travel inquiry form or send me a message with your destination ideas, preferred dates, departure city, number of travelers, and approximate budget. Not sure where you want to go? That’s okay—tell me what kind of vacation you’re hoping for, and we’ll start there!

Can I finance my vacation?

Financing may be available for eligible bookings through participating travel suppliers, including options through Affirm and Flex Pay. Approval and terms depend on the financing provider’s eligibility requirements and credit assessment. Interest rates, payment amounts, and repayment schedules vary, and not all trips qualify. Let me know if you’re interested so we can explore available options—you’ll be able to review the terms before accepting.

How far in advance should I book my vacation?

Reach out as soon as you start thinking about a trip! Planning early gives us more time to explore accommodations, compare options, and coordinate the details—especially for holidays, school breaks, group trips, and special occasions. If your trip is coming up soon, I can help you explore what’s still available.

Can I request a quote if I’m not sure where I want to go?

Absolutely! You don’t need to have everything figured out. Tell me your approximate budget, preferred dates, who’s traveling, and what you enjoy. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, family fun, or a romantic getaway, I can help narrow down your options.

Is the price guaranteed once I receive a quote?

A quote is a snapshot of the pricing and availability at that time. Unless a supplier has specifically confirmed a hold, prices and availability can change before your reservation is secured. I’ll confirm the current price and required payment when you’re ready to book.

Can you help plan a trip for a group or special occasion?

Yes! Whether you’re planning a honeymoon, birthday getaway, family reunion, or vacation with friends, I can help explore options that fit the occasion. Share your estimated group size, preferred dates, budget, and any special requests. Group rates and perks may be available, depending on the supplier and booking requirements.

Do you help travelers across East Tennessee?

Yes! I’m based in East Tennessee and help travelers across the region plan cruises, all-inclusive getaways, and family vacations. See my full list of service areas at isaiahnewporttravel.com/service-areas.

Can I work with Isaiah Newport Travel if I live outside Tennessee?

Absolutely. Most trip planning happens by phone, text, email, or Zoom, so I work with travelers anywhere in the United States. You never need to visit an office or meet in person to get started.

Can you help me plan a Royal Caribbean cruise?

Yes — Royal Caribbean is one of my specialties. I can help you choose the right ship and sailing, compare staterooms, and handle the details, from weekend getaways to weeklong Caribbean cruises.

Can you help me choose an all-inclusive resort?

Yes! I’ll help match you with an all-inclusive resort that fits your budget, travel style, and priorities — whether that’s a family-friendly resort packed with activities or a quiet adults-only escape.

Do you plan honeymoons, family vacations, and group trips?

Yes — honeymoons, family vacations, group trips, and destination celebrations are all part of what I do. Tell me who’s traveling and what kind of trip you’re dreaming of, and I’ll put together options that fit.

Do you plan group travel for churches, schools, and clubs?

Yes! I plan group travel for church retreats and mission trips, school field trips and honors clubs, clubs, reunions, and teams. Your group gets one point of contact for the whole trip — I’ll coordinate the details like charter bus transportation and hotel room blocks so your group can just show up and enjoy it.

How does group travel planning work?

Tell me about your group — who’s going, where you’d like to go, and your approximate budget — and I’ll put together options that fit. My planning is free, just like for individual trips: I’m paid by the cruise lines, resorts, and travel companies I book with, and your group pays the same price as booking direct.

How far in advance should we plan a group trip?

As early as you can — group space, room blocks, and charter buses fill up quickly, especially for popular dates. Reaching out early gives us the best selection and the most time to coordinate everyone’s details. Even if your dates aren’t final yet, we can start exploring options.
