Families sailing Carnival Cruise Line over the next couple of weeks are in for a playful surprise. Carnival is celebrating the big-screen debut of the new animated Cat in the Hat movie with limited-time, movie-themed experiences and fresh additions to its Seuss at Sea programming, marking 15 years of partnership with Dr. Seuss.
Twenty-three ships are joining the celebration during the two weeks leading up to the film’s Nov. 6 premiere. Highlights include The Cat’s Hollywood Debut Party in the ship atriums, with balloon drops, a red-and-white striped premiere carpet, character appearances, family entertainment and crafts. Select ships will also feature 40-foot Cat in the Hat inflatables on their open decks during embarkation, and some guests in select staterooms will receive themed postcards, snack packs, invitations to meet-and-greet events and other giveaways.
Kids can dive into Cat in the Hat activities in Camp Ocean, try themed photo opportunities, and stop by the Build-A-Bear Workshop for Thing 1 and Thing 2 bear shirts and a Cat in the Hat furry friend. Beyond the premiere celebration, Carnival is also adding two ongoing Seuss at Sea activities: game time with music, dancing and challenges in the main theater, and a family time session where cruisers act out scenes and play Seuss-themed charades.
