If you love smaller ships that stay longer in port, Azamara’s newly announced 2028-29 season is worth a look. The line has released 85 cruises sailing from October 29, 2028 through May 19, 2029, spanning 81 countries and 210 ports of call across all four of its ships — Onward, Journey, Pursuit and Quest.
One of the biggest headlines is the return of Azamara Onward to Africa and the Indian Ocean after several years away. That season covers 27 countries, including a call at Jamestown, Saint Helena on December 12, 2028, plus the Vanilla Islands — Seychelles, Mauritius, Réunion and Madagascar. In the Mediterranean, Azamara Journey will visit 16 countries and 65 ports, with three consecutive days in Alexandria, Egypt, an overnight in Marseille over Christmas Eve, and an overnight in Çanakkale, Turkey.
Azamara Pursuit will focus on Asia-Pacific, with a sailing along Western Australia’s Kimberley Coast, a Sydney-to-Singapore voyage with Great Barrier Reef gateway stops, and five back-to-back Japan Intensive sailings from late March through May 2029 timed for cherry blossom season. Azamara Quest rounds out the program with Mediterranean, Transatlantic and Caribbean sailings through January 1, 2029, ending with a Panama Canal holiday and New Year’s sailing before its 195-day 2029 World Cruise. The season emphasizes Azamara’s signature longer stays, with 94 overnights and more than 200 late-night departures planned.
